I

I’m pretty lucky with wedding photography in that I get booked up in locations that are pretty close to home……enjoy that part of the job. Lisa’s wedding however was a bit of a spin for me, but one that I was looking forward to as the reception was in Lough Rynn Castle in Leitrim…..my first time working there and a super spot where the staff look after wedding suppliers so well (more about that later).

Wedding morning in Manorhamilton

Lisa’s preparations took place just outside Manorhamilton which meant an early start for me. She had a good gang of people around her on wedding day and bridesmaids Karina, Susie, Emma (all sisters too), Nic, Caz and Angie were in pretty good form….mind you it was hard not to be as it was a glorious day and the hilly countryside of Leitrim looked awesome.

Wedding Ceremony St Patrick’s Church Mohill

Lisa and Micky’s son Noah was a happy little soul too on wedding morning and playing the important role of Pageboy extremely well on wedding day.
Lisa’s preparations took place approximately an hour from Mohill where the church was so I made the journey to meet up with Micky and his gang, as well as bumping into Mike Flannery who was covering video on the day…..always have the banter with Mike and it’s good to meet him on wedding days!

Micky made a loud and prompt appearance on the back of a motor bike in St Patrick’s Church in Mohil, and was a good sport with regards to the photos that day too. The fact that the weather was as good as it was, it lent itself to good reportage photography as all Lisa and Micky’s guests were happy to shoot the breeze outdoors while basking in the suns heat on wedding day.

Wedding Reception Lough Rynn Castle Leitrim

After the ceremony, our journey to Lough Rynn was a brief one, and I was taken aback and how warm and welcoming that staff were upon arrival. We had a brief chat about how the day might pan out and then staff member Francis (a gentleman) chauffeured both Mike Flannery and I as well as the bridal party down to the gardens where we did some bridal portraits. The heat was excessive and it was even necessary for Mike to dip into the fountain to cool himself down a bit!

The landscape in Lough Rynn is truly majestic and they certainly got the weather to show it off….and thanks so much to Francis for bringing us around them with such a positive attitude. Lisa was such a lady to be around on her wedding day and I was delighted that everything seemed to go right for her with regards to her big day.

After our bridal shoot, we returned to the hotel where all of the guests had retired to the lawns to chill out and we ran off some family portraits there too before the bell was rung for the meal.
Thanks Lisa and Micky for trusting in me with your wedding photography……I thoroughly enjoyed your company and everything to do with your wedding day, from start to end it was a treat to be with and around you as well as working in such a superb and supplier friendly hotel.
I wish the three of you the very best for the future and please God we’ll cross paths sometime again. Until then, mind yourselves!!
