Gemma and Ciaran’s wedding was pretty cool….so many natural and unique moments that developed right in front of the camera and it was pretty cool to observe and witness their special day at close quarters.

Wedding morning in Kilnadeemna Loughrea

Plenty of activity at Gemma’s beautiful home on wedding morning….sisters Genevieve, Edel and Geraldine as well and friend Therese were all on bridesmaids duty and brought a positive and bubbly attitude to Gemma and Ciaran’s big day. Gemma’s mum Geraldine had warned me when I came to the house that she hated photos, and ironically I ended up spending quite a bit of the wedding morning chin wagging with her and enjoying her company….indeed we even got a few sneaky images of her where she looked pretty relaxed.
Relaxed is exactly what Gemma was too…..the superb Triona Lyons had her looking superb and I enjoyed the way the morning developed and the casual shots we managed to capture of Gemma and her dad Gerry as well as some with the cherished ponies too.

Wedding Ceremony Kilnadeemna Loughrea

Vinny O’Sullivan was looking after video on the day and it was a treat to hook up with him and Ciaran as well as all the groomsmen at the church. Fair play to Ciaran’s groomsmen Noel, Cathal, Fiacra and Darragh who were equally as jovial as the ladies which always helps matters on wedding day.

Fr Michael Byrnes looked after proceedings and is most cordial and welcoming priest for any photographer to work with. I love the way he personalizes wedding and works pretty hard at ensuring the day is laid back and enjoyable for the bride and groom. After the ceremony, we used the church grounds for the family portraits (as well as a hang out spot for guests to eat the abundance of Ice Cream before heading to Long Point just outside Loughrea to grab some photos.

Wedding Reception Clayton Hotel Galway

We also made a quick stop in the grounds of the Cathedral in Loughrea with Gemma and Ciaran before making the journey into the Clayton Hotel in Galway for a most enjoyable reception. Karina is the wedding co-ordinator in the Clayton and possibly the most genuine and sincere person that you’ll have working alongside you on wedding days.

Thanks Gemma and Ciaran for trusting me with your wedding photography and I thoroughly enjoyed working with you both and your families. You have exciting times ahead of both of you with your new home and I wish you the very best with this too. Please God our paths will cross in the near future again….in the mean time, mind yourselves!
