Shearwater Hotel Wedding Ballinasloe
Linda and Adrian are two people who were simply wonderful to be with on their wedding day and for that reason I’ve very fond memories of last June.
When a bride and groom are in a “good place” in life, I truly feel that this is reflected in their personas on wedding days…….and I personally thing both Linda and Adrian are in a really good place!
I had previously crossed paths with Adrian at a couple of previous weddings but hadn’t had the opportunity to meet his beautiful fiancé Linda until we did an engagement shoot in Glasson prior to their big day. The photo shoot gave us an opportunity to meet each other, share some thoughts on how the wedding day may pan out and just in general get relaxed in each others company which would hopefully stand to us on the big day.
Wedding Morning in Ballinasloe
So arriving at Linda’s home in Ballinasloe on wedding morning, I was taken aback at how prepared they were on wedding morning. Indeed Linda and her bridesmaids Lorraine, Gillian and Collette were practically ready….hair and make up complete and really just needed to put on their dresses. This rarely happens, but I feel it helps a bride as well as her bridesmaid when things go as smoothly as it did on Linda’s wedding morning….no last minute stress trying to fix something about hair or make up that they may not like, or indeed allowing for any issues that may arise with the dress. Thankfully Linda’s preparations was void of all that but a happy and cheerful home on wedding morning was pretty evident and I’m grateful to her parents Padraig and Helen for their warm welcome too. Normally the Videographer heads off to the church long before the bride is in her dress on wedding morning (…they have microphone and sound issues that a photographer needn’t worry about to look after), but I found myself traveling to the church (which was literally a stone’s throw from Linda’s home) pretty soon after John Murphy from Avalon Video departed…..plenty of time in hand and a pep in my step.
Wedding Ceremony Ballinasloe
Adrian was “chillin” with his groomsmen Barry, Roan and Philip when I arrived at the church. It was a lovely sunny day but unfortunately it was quite breezy too…..this doesn’t upset the guys with the gelled up hair but for the ladies it can cause turmoil to the lovely hair do’s that they invested time money on for the big day….it can be a man’s world!!
After the beautiful ceremony, we availed of the shelter of the church to take some family portraits before using the grounds of Garbally College for a photoshoot. Unfortunately it was quite breezy where we arrived there with a lot of dust blowing from the chipped roads so we back tracked into the entrance drive way where there was some lovely shelter and indeed light! I appreciated the patience and shift of locations from the bridal party…..there was a lot of positive energy flowing from them and indeed John Murphy and I enjoyed our time and indeed craic with them.
Wedding Reception Shearwater Ballinasloe
Our final port of call was the Shearwater Hotel for a wonderful reception….a fantastic spot with very friends and cordial staff. Sean De Burca also known as the Piano Man was keeping the energy levels high at the reception prior to the meal and indeed the good vibes that we experienced with the bridal party were also felt back at the hotel….well done all!
Thanks Linda and Adrian for being the wonderful people that you are , and indeed for trusting me with your wedding photography. I thoroughly enjoyed working with you both and please God we’ll cross paths soon again! Bizarrely we crossed paths a week after their own wedding when they were guests at another wedding but haven’t bumped into each other since.
Best of luck to the two of you guys and until we cross paths again, mind yourselves!!
