Wedding Morning in Yvonne’s Home
Really enjoyed the day, and not least of all the drive to Yvonne’s home on wedding morning…such a postcard type beauty to it with lovely stone walls, rolling hills, working farmyards!! Unfortunately the rain was bucketing down when I arrived, but you couldn’t help but enjoy the view and the nature that was on display none the less.
Yvonne was in good spirits when I arrived and at and advanced stage with her hair and make up which was great. Jason Nolan (wedding video) was a familiar face upon arrival and we enjoyed our time capturing Yvonne along with her bridesmaids Colette (Yvonne’s sister), Lisa and Denise. Junior Bridesmaid Chloe and flowergirls Leah, Roisin & Aoibhin added to the positive energy that everyone was in on wedding morning.
Wedding Ceremony Ballintubber Abbey
After Yvonne’s preparations, I made the 10 minute journey to the wonderful Ballintubber Abbey. Such a wonderful building that exudes character, and I daresay possible Ireland’s busiest wedding church? What really lovely about the place is despite it being busy, the staff and clergy are so welcoming, warm and friendly on wedding day and for this reason I love working there….a lovely serenity to the place.
Barry was in good spirits prior to the ceremony and his Groomsmen Christopher, Brendan and James kept matters light hearted and everyone in good spirits.
The ceremony was beautiful…lovely music and an entertaining homily which made it feel like time flew by. After the ceremony and after Yvonne and Barry had greeted their wedding guests, we used the shelter of the church for the Family Portraits. Although the rain had moved on, it was quite blustery and we used the indoors for this reason. We also availed of the grounds of the church for a brief shoot with the bridal party before making a short spin to Moore Hall for another few photos.
Wedding Photos Moore Hall.
Moore Hall was about a 10 minute spin from Ballintubber Abbey, but it offered some shelter from the wind and indeed the colours that were on display there were lovely and vibrant. I must commend Yvonne in particular for her enthusiasm while we were here. The location was her choice and she even had a pair of wellingtons with her ensuring that she would get the images that she wanted. It’s wonderful being around a bride was such a positive disposition on her wedding day….no energy spend trying to cajole her into getting the photos…thanks guys!!
Jason and I were happy out with our shoot in Moore Hall before we made our final journey to the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport.
Wedding Reception Castlecourt Hotel Westport
Vinny and his team run a tight ship in the Castlecourt Hotel….a busy wedding venue but just like Ballintubber Abbey, a very welcoming one and they’re all team players which is excellent for wedding suppliers.
It was nice to catch up with and old colleague Bertrand Huvé who was part of the Jazz duo entertaining weddings guests prior to the meal…lovely vibe happening in reception!!
Entertaining speeches and a wonderful meal ensured all guests were happy out and rearing to go with the music. Who Knows provided same and were excellent. Very quick to set up and a short change around ensured that everyone was in flying form for the music and the full dance floor reflected that!
Many thanks Yvonne and Barry for trusting me with your wedding photography. Really enjoyed all aspects of the day and indeed it was great to catch up with you recently at Aoife and Greg’s wedding….married life is suiting you well !!
Until we cross paths again, mind yourselves!
