Kate and Bobby were recently married in Knocknacara Galway followed by a wedding reception in the Galway Bay Hotel Salthill

A great wedding with a lot of familar faces there…not least of all Bridesmaid Gemma’s whose wedding I did not so long ago!

I had similar instructions too from both brides…their fella’s hated the camera and try and keep things quick and no fussing! Bobby just like James ended up being a gentleman to work with and indeed gave me the time required and I was pretty happy with the results that we got!

There was a nice buzz in Kate’s home on wedding morning with daughters Sophie and Isabelle adding immensely to the whole occasion. Bridesmaids Tara and Gemma (along with Isabelle of course) were also in great spirits and in general there was a lovely happy out vibe on wedding morning. Indeed it was cool witnessing everyone getting giddy at the sight of the groomsmen arriving at the church…..the rear of Kat’s parents home looks out on Knocknacarra church and it was a first for me getting to see the reactions of the bridesmaids and Kate’s family to this!!

I could have walked to the church to meet up with Bobby and his team. Great to see the aforementioned James that I mentioned earlier, along with Shane and Robert….a good bunch of guys and very accommodating with regards to photography despite the warning shots fired prior to the big day!!
Also super to bump into Nicola McGuire accompanied by Dave Mongan who were providing the music. Truly awesome at what they do, and indeed the photos will show how they moved Kate during the ceremony…some cool happy out pics!!
The weather was pretty damp all morning and after the ceremony, we availed of the church for the family portraits. We were about to head out to Bearna woods for some photos when the weather lightened up somewhat that we decided to chance the Memorial Gardens next door to the hotel for the photo shoot. Luckily, we got dry weather for the next half hour and got the shots we needed in the park as well as the Prom in Salthill before heading back to the wonderful Galway Bay.

Love everything about the Galway Bay and working there and Kate and Bobby had a wonderful reception there among family and friends. There was superb entertainment with Duo Vocis (Frank Naughton and Sean Costello) providing a surprise arranged by Kate’s parents Anne & Jimmy. They had the place in superb form…indeed a sight to behold! It was wonderful to watch the entire wedding standing on chairs and waving hankies to the top drawer entertainment….I loved observing all the reactions, not least of all Kate’s Grandmother who was in full flow enjoying it all!

The Weightless Cosmonauts rounded off a superb wedding with a hopping dance floor…indeed taking Seán and Frank’s performance to another level! I’d imagine guests of Kate and Bobby’s wedding would find it hard to name another wedding that they’ve attended that offered such entertainment and energy….would love to have been a gusts myself!

Thanks so much guts for trusting me with your wedding photography. You were two great people and I appreciate your attitude to the photography side of things Bobby…..I was a bit nervous about it but ended up enjpying a truly awesome day around awesome poeple and wedding suppliers1

Until we cross paths again, mind yourselves!
