Wedding Elopement Ireland
Jenny & Ryan recently experienced a Wedding Elopement in Ireland.
They traveled to the West of Ireland from the USA for an Elopement organised by Eloping In Ireland. The newlyweds were no strangers to here (Jenny’s surname is Murphy) and were visitors to these shores in the past…although not together.
Wedding preparations in Hotel Meyrick Galway
On the morning of the wedding, both Jenny and Ryan were getting ready in Hotel Meyrick Galway. Jenny’s make Up and Hair were provided by MUA Grainne Coughlan and Cathleen Fahy (hair)…two lovely girls who made wedding morning a very relaxed affair.
Ryan was also getting ready in Hotel Meyrick and I was in a position to grab some images of his preparations too. He would make his way to Corcomroe Abbey along with their wedding celebrant Pat Mangan ahead of his future wife!
I admit that I was pretty worried about the weather that we’d experience. There isn’t much shelter for Elopements and indeed we were experiencing some pretty horrific weather the days before Jenny and Ryan’s big day. Luckily, we had a “not too bad” kinda day….some showers, and some sunshine with a lot of wind. We would do what we could in between the showers….our only plan!!
Elopement in Corcomroe Abbey Co Clare
Corcomroe Abbey is situated at the foot of the hills of the Burren, some wonderful countryside and nature on display here. John Murphy from Avalon Video was flying his drone when I arrived and capturing some lovely footage of the rugged landscape. We didn’t have long to wait before the punctual Jenny arrived and we had a lovely intimate ceremony performed by Pat which included the lovely hand fasting ceremony…..indeed where the saying “tie the knot” comes from. After the ceremomy, it was pretty windy and we used the shelter of the Abbey for a hand full of portraits before we made the journey to the Cliffs Of Moher for the photo shoot.
Cliffs Of Moher Photoshoot
Our final stop was the majestic “Cliffs Of Moher“.
Needless to say it has majestic scenery and offers unreal views of the Atlantic, and I was hoping that we would get to show it off without any showers….and we managed that!
Jenny and Ryan were a lot more fearless than I was with regards to the location…heights were no problem to them! We changed loactions after a few minutes and when we climbed over a steep hill, we were exposed to one of the strongest winds I’d experienced in a while….so much so that I was asking Ryan to take hold of his new wife as best he could….I was afraid we were going to blown over the edge!!
I really enjoyed the day with Jenny and Ryan…two good people who were relaxed and joy to be around. I wish you both the very best in the future!!
