Vanessa and Paul’s wedding reception took place in the majestic Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill. It’s a beautiful location and a hotel that I truly love working it. Salthill had a Mediterranean feel to it on May 5th…glorious sunshine and warm temperatures…splendid day for all wedding guests!

Paul’s preparations took place at home in Newcastle in Galway City. Natalie Grier of Boudoir Girls covered same for me and all images from wedding morning with the boys are hers.

Kilmaine Mayo

There was a great buzz of excitement in Vanessa’s home on wedding morning with a bunch of familiar faces there. My good friends and neighbor John Murphy of Avalon Video had his out when I arrived. It was truly a majestic day with glorious sunshine and not a puff of breeze.

Vanessa was in good spirits and looked truly stunning. Caroline Coyne (Make Up) and Natalie O’Brien (hair) were the super duo responsible for same. Always love bumping into the ladies and we have great chats! I enjoyed Paddy and Anne’s company too….Vanessa’s proud parents who had a lovely and relaxed home to arrive into.

The church in Kilmaine was only a small spin away and it was there that I took over from Natalie with the boys. I’m sure they were disappointed! Even if they were. they were in good form none the less and seemed to be really enjoying their day.
Vanessa and her bridesmaids were pretty much on time. U2R1 Wedding Cars were responsible for getting the bridesmaids to the church on time, while Vanessa’s dad Paddy drove his little girl in his own refurbished vintage car.
The ceremony wasn’t the shortest although we had wonderful music from Kayla McDonagh who was accompanied by the excellent Mike Cooley on guitar.

Claddagh Galway

After the ceremony, we did the family portraits outside in the glorious sunshine outside before speeding into the Claddagh in Galway for a brief photo shoot with just Vanessa & Paul. The River Corrib was like a lake, so calm and truly glorious sunshine. John Murphy and I spent 5 minutes here doing a brief shoot before heading back to the Memorial gardens in Salthill to meet up with the bridal party

Galway Bay Hotel

One of the beautifies of having a wedding in the Galway Bay Hotel is the abundance of photo opportunities that exist all around it. One of those beauties are the Memorial gardens next door. Very well maintained and plenty of colors on display there, it’s a majestic location. We spent a few minutes with the bridal party here before Vanessa and Paul crossed the road for a short walk on the prom. Again, another superb location that offers superb wedding photo opportunities and thanks to Vanessa and Paul for their eagerness to avail of same.
After our short shoots, we crossed the road to our final destination, the Galway Bay Hotel. I’ve mentioned it on numerous occasions before, I love working here….indeed it was my wedding reception venue too many years ago!

Thanks so much Vanessa and Paul for being great people to work! I’d like to think that we have some nice wedding day photos and this is down to your enthusiasm for same!
I wish you both the very best and hope life is good again for you in Oz!
