Wedding Landmark Hotel Carrick On Shannon
Deirdre and Padraic were recently married with a wedding reception in the Landmark Hotel Carrick on Shannon
I looked forward to this wedding for some time. I knew Deirdre and a lot of her friends from a visit I had to the hospital a few years ago. They’re all simply the best people ever and contribute to society in a far greater way than most.
Four Roads Co Roscommon
Deirdre’s preparations took place just outside the village of Four Roads in Roscommon. En route on wedding morning, the weather was pretty okay. We had a bad night of rain but things were looking up when I arrived with Deidre. Sandra Gillen was looking after the Make Up side of things and it was lovely to bump into her along with Jason Nolan who was looking after Video on the morning of the wedding…two excellent wedding suppliers.
Preparations took place in the most lovely of Viallage’s called Jamestown just outside Four Roads. The place has so much character and I was optimistic that we’d be able to fulfill Deidre’s wishes of having some wedding photography done there after the ceremony.
Thanks to Chrissy Deirdre’s mum Chrissy for her warm welcome. A lovely home to go into and made all the brighter by the positive bridesmaids that were Marion, Yvonne and Dearbhla….we had good banter on wedding morning.
Four Roads is less than 5 minutes away and I met up with the gas man Padraic along with his groomsmen Conan, Micheál and Damien. We ran off some photos and had some fun before the punctual ladies arrived.
After the ceremony, we did the family portraits in the church, and unfortunately it was at this point that the weather took a disastrous turn. It turned pretty wet with no signs of the rain relenting….indeed it was down for the day. Fair play to Deirdre, she was enthusiastic to get some images back in Jamestown so we headed back their for a brief photo….but first we availed of the shelter of the church to do some bridal portraits. The weather was pretty terrible however and we were very limited to what we could do in Jamestown.
The Landmark Hotel Carrick On Shannon
Our final stop was in the Landmark Hotel in Carrick On Shannon. It’s a beautiful spot on the shores of the Shannon and the hotel is a busy wedding venue. After arriving, the bridal party were able to relax and have some nibbles in a private room with the bridal party and it was here that we ran off some more photos along with some in the function room. I appreciate the efforts of Deirdre and Padriac with regards to the photography at the hotel. It can be hard to spend some time taking photos when you see all your guests and family at the wedding venue, but they were great and there was no need for any cajoling with regards to the photography side of things. I really enjoyed chin wagging with all the nurses from the hospital too….good people who also know how to enjoy themselves.
Thanks so much Deirdre and Padraic for trusting me with your wedding photography. The weather didn’t play ball, but you didn’t sweat the small stuff and for that reason, you were both simply class to be around. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and thanks for trusting me with your wedding photography.
Photos from the day are below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
