Lynda and Richard’s recent wedding took place in St Mary’s Church the Claddagh followed by a wedding reception in the Salthill Hotel.
There were so many things to enjoy about their day….but the stand out for me was the amount of time that they had to relax before their reception in the Salthill Hotel. Good planning and not wasting time was the main reason for same.
I also enjoyed the emotion that was on display! I keep saying it but I love tears at a wedding. They are emotions that can’t be summed up with words, and a sign of awareness and gratitude in my opinion.
Lynda’s home was in Ballinasloe and that was my first call on wedding day. The sun was shining as was the positive attitude of everyone in Lynda’s home. Thanks to her parents Mary & Denis for the warm welcome and Lynda had the best bridesmaids in Ella, Aoife, Louise and Eleanor…great girls. Ella is Lynda’s sister and Maid Of Honor, and I loved her reaction when first seeing Lynda in the dress….true sisterly love! Lynda’s nan Hannah was also present on wedding morning and she’s a lady that loved a bit of fun. Indeed 12 hours later when I was finishing up, you couldn’t get her off the dance floor she was enjoying herself so much!
Richard’s preparations took place in the Salthill Hotel that morning and my good friend and excellent photographer Deirdre Langan photographed same. She enjoyed the banter with the lads and signs are on them they had a pretty relaxed and fun morning!
I met Lynda and Richard at the start of the year when they were home and they mentioned a drink in Quay Street being something they wanted to do. With the sun shining, it was 100% a perfect day for strolling and what made it so much better was the fact that with a 1pm ceremony and no dely in covering family portraits and a bridal shoot, they had plenty of time in Tí Neachtain’s to enjoy the company of their bridal party and indeed hydrate. We spent almost an hour there and were under no pressure from a time point of view to move on. Not all weddings run as smoothly as this, but Lynda and Richard were a dream in that they absorbed our discussion earlier in the year and knew what was required to have time to do what they wanted. I also enjoyed our bridal shoot as I had the back up of Deirdre with me…great to be able to bounce things off a fellow photographer!!
Lynda and Richard made one last stop on the Salthill Prom before arriving back to the Salthill Hotel for their reception.
We had a great night and the excellent The Favours Wedding band had the floor full for the evening. Great energy and such a fantastic way to finish off a great wedding.
Thanks Lynda and Richard for trusting me with your wedding photography. I enjoyed your day immensely (and all the tearful moments) and I hopw our paths will cross again in the near future. Until then, mind yourselves!
Some images of the day below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page. As mentioned above, all images of Richard and his groomsmen Michael, David, Eoin and Ciaran were captured by Deirdre Langan
